Point Location Description: Drill hole collar for Dome Exploration's 1971 drill hole.

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: The showing is accessible by the Dore Forestry Access Road which comes within about 1 km of the showing. The Dore Road runs through the eastern portion of Garnet Twp. and is readily accessible from the main logging road that runs between the town of Sultan and Highway 144.

Exploration History

1966: The International Nickel Co. drilled a hole approximately 1 km due east of the showing and intersected greenstone and argillite. 1971: Dome Exploration drilled one hole, the subject of this report, to the west of Fawn Creek in the southeast corner of Garnet Twp. Dome intersected iron formation, intermediate metavolcanics, and graphitic argillite. Within the graphitic argillite was reported occasional carbonate veinlets and 5-10% sulphide mineralization with anomalous Cu and Zn values. 1983: Lacana Mining Corp. performed geological mapping and drilled 2 holes into a 9 claim property about 750 m to the northeast of the Dome drill hole showing. 1987-88: Mingold Resources Inc. carried out a magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey over a 27 claim block that included the showing. Following the geophysical survey, a geochemical and bulk overburden sampling program was undertaken over 10 of the eastern claims just to the west of the Dore Road. 1990: Mingold Resources drilled 4 diamond drill holes for a total length of 624.8 m to the west of the main gravel road in southeastern Garnet Twp. Mingold intersected metavolcanics, tuff, chlorite schist, and intermediate porphyry. Rocks show various degrees of foliation and some units report bands of siliceous alteration. 1991: Asarco optioned 14 claims off of Mingold and staked an additional 25 claims to created a 39 claim block which covered the Dome drill hole showing. Asarco conducted a geological mapping, magnetic, and horizontal loop electromagnetic survey over the gridded claim block. 1992: Asarco completed four diamond drill holes totalling 630.5 m and conducted down-hole pulse EM surveys in holes F92-1 and F92-2. A deep electromagnetic survey was also conducted over 1.8 line kilometres by Crone Geophysics. 2000-2001: C.H. Mortimer – DD-1-180m (T-4600/2.21679)

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Mineralization associated with the anomalous Cu and Zn values is reported to be 5-10% pyrite and pyrrhotite usually found along banding.

Feb 05, 2016 (A Wilson) - A sample colledted from a narrow iron formation and associated argillite returned an assay of 0.075% Cu and 0.10% Zn.
