Exploration History

1904-7: Ridout Mining Company dug trenches. 1953: Page-Harley Mines carried out 9 diamond drill holes totaling 2976 ft. 1954: Cominco carried out an EM survey. 1955: Cominco completed 4 diamond drill holes. 1955-1957: Shunsby Gold Mines Limited completed 74 diamond drill holes. 1960-1961: Nipiron Mines Ltd. carried out a geological survey. 1970: Consolidated Shunsby Mines Ltd. carried out geological mapping and geochemical sampling. 1971: Consolidated Shunsby Mines Ltd. carried out a geological interpretation and published a prospectus. 1975: Grandora Exploration Ltd. carried out soil sampling. 1980: Placer Development Ltd. carried out a ground geophysical survey (VLFEM, magnetometer, electromagnetic). 1978: Greenwich Lake Exploration Ltd. published a prospectus. 1981-1982: MW Resources completed 31 diamond drill holes. 1983: MW Resources Ltd. carried out a geochemical survey. 1988: United Mineral Services Ltd. carried out geological mapping, geochemical survey, and compilation and interpretation. 1989: Grand American Minerals Ltd. carried out geological mapping, bedrock trenching, geochemical sampling, soil sampling, ground geochemical surveys (magnetometer, electromagnetic) and assaying and analyses. 1992: Grand American Minerals Ltd. completed 10 diamond drill holes totaling 2180 ft. 1992: Noranda Exploration Co. carried out ground geophysics (VLFEM, electromagnetic), geological mapping, geochemical survey. 2011-2012: Keystone Associates Inc. carried out geochemical sampling and assays and analyses. 2015-2017: Skead Holdings Ltd. carried out geochemical sampling, assaying and analyses, and a ground geophysical survey (electromagnetic).

Mineralization Comments

Mar 24, 2020 (Q Unknown) - The base metal mineralization, sphalerite and galena, is primarily associated as heavy disseminations in quartz veins though some mineralization does occur in the iron formation.
