Point Location Description: Large general drill clearing in the vicinity of hole SC-3 on former claim 630745.

Location Method: Field Visit with GPS

Access Description: Easy access to the area is possible by the logging / mining access road which extends north from Kormack and Highway 667. The northern branch of this road passes over several stripped outcrops just east of the prospect. A skidder trail leads to the drill area.

Exploration History

1977-81: Granges Exploration carried out an exploration program in the area and a geophysical survey was apparently carried out over the prospect. 1982: Quinterra Resources/Highland Crow Resources staked ground covering the claims and carried out a till sampling program southeast of this prospect. Later in the year a small drill program was carried out which intersected extensive green carbonate zones with quartz stockworks. One sample from this drill program returned erratic gold values up to 46 g/t gold (1.36 opt), the sample came from hole SC-3. In the following year (1983) a ground magnetometer survey was carried out over the prospect together with a larger drill program, in part centred on the successful hole drilled in 1982. Results from this program were unable to duplicate the initial and scattered values up to 3 g/t were obtained in the vicinity of the original intersection. Later in the year a large IP program was carried out along the strike extensions of the green carbonate zone. In 1984 an airborne magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey was flown over the whole claim group. 1985: The Canadian Nickel Company optioned the property and carried out a reverse circulation drilling program to sample the overburden. No samples were obtained in the vicinity of the prospect described here. 1987: Quinterra Resources tested the mineralization with two more diamond drill holes but failed to duplicate the original values in hole SC-3. 1992-93: Kennecott Canada acquired the property and carried out an exploration program in the search for nickel. Work consisted of magnetic and HL electromagnetic surveying, geological mapping and prospecting. Follow-up diamond drilling consisted of a series of holes drilled south of this prospect. 2002: Canabrava Diamond Corporation – AEM, AMag, DD – 1 – 120m, Pr, Samp.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - Gold occurs mainly with coarse cubic and finer disseminated pyrite grains. The pyrite forms up to 10% of the rock in irregular concentrations typically developed within a green carbonate unit. Rare chalcopyrite grains.

Jun 19, 2013 (A Wilson) - The diamond drilling completed by Quinterra Resources returned erratic gold values up to 46 g/t Au (from ddh SC-3). This value was not replicated by further drilling (T-2493).
