Lithology Comments

Jun 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - Finely banded beds of chert and graphitic argillite occur as multiple horizons in a mafic volcanic pile which is intruded by small granitic dikes and sills. A nearby hole also intersected brown trachyte. Northwest of the drill holes is a mafic flow outcrop which is relatively massive. A knobby texture, with <4mm hornblende aggregates, dominate the northern part of the outcrop, but to the south, is restricted to irregular thin bands in a finer-grained phase of the flow. The weathered surface is a pale olive green were as the fresh surface is blue-green colour. The mafic flow has the appearance of a komatiite.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - Up to 30% pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite occurs in the chert horizon, buth the typical concentration is about 10%. There appears to be a strong similarity between this prospect and the Tooms Nickel prospect. In the mafic flow outcrop, sparse, fine-grained, disseminated pyrrhotite occurs in the rock matrix. Along fractures the pyrrhotite is coarser and associated with hairline carbonate veining. Assay values of 0.09% Cu and 0.01 g/t Au were obtained from an intersection in the diamond drill hole.
