Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The host rocks also contain a stockwork of narrow carbonate filled fractures.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The mineralization is hosted in a sequence of fresh pillowed basalts. In the area of the mineralization these basalts have been intruded by felsic dykes - porphyry dykes. The mineralization is closely associated with quartz vein stockworks and the narrow though strong iron carbonate alteration adjacent to these veins. There appear to be multiple ages to the veining and many are short less than 10mm quartz, quartz - carbonate or quartz - feldspar veins. Some larger veins (<20cm) do occur and consist of milky quartz with chlorite and locally form brecciated sections.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - Disseminated pyrite occurs as fine to coarse grains, locally euhedral and preferentially concentrated in the alteration zones adjacent to the quartz veins. Coarse gold occurs erratically in the narrow veins.

Jun 03, 2009 (D Draper) - Samples taken by Swayze Resources of their western, Area 1, trench site returned an average of 4.2 g/t (0.124 opt) Au over 3.5m in one section and 127.89 g/t (3.73 opt) over 3m in another zone. This latter zone included a quartz vein sample which reportedly assayed 13.95 opt Au. Swayze's Area 2 trench location, approximately 250m ESE of Area 1, returned gold values up to 18.2 g/t (0.532 opt). (T-2784) Chip samples taken by the OGS in 1985 returned values of 1.09 g/t Au, 1.58 g/t Au and 1.55 g/t Au from vein material. (OFR 5912, pp. 210-211) Additional trenching was done in 1993 in the vicinity of Area 1 (Mortimer Loc. 11). Sampling of a section of quartz veins showing visible gold returned 0.56 opt. (T-3486) INMET drillhole SWZ-05, collared approx. 130m north of Area 1 and bearing south, assayed 865 ppb Au over 1.5m in a feldspar-porphyry mineralized with disseminated py and trace cpy. Site Visit Information

Date: Jul 07, 1985

Geologist: J Ireland

Notes: Visited Swayze Resources property Dore Township. Dore #1 trench - at least two quartz vein systems, highly variable in width 1' to over 18' along the length of the trench. Veins hosted in chloritized mafic volcanics exhibiting minor carbonatization haloes adjacent to the veins. Sulphides variable 1 - 15%. Dore #2 trench - series of parallel quartz - carbonate veinlets varying in size from 1/2' to 3' and separated by 1 - 5 ft of carbonatized massive volcanics. Narrow pyritic halos surround quartz veins. 1% pyrite. [ Written by SLF from field notes by JCI ]

Date: Aug 03, 1994

Geologist: S Fumerton

Notes: A visit was made to examine the progress of work in the past year and discussions were held with two partners Messrs Charlie Mortimer and Arvi Schell. Little work has been achieved in the past year as the backhoe broke down and most of the trenches excavated in 1993 have sloughed in, or are water filled. It was found during the visit that the lack of any trench map inhibited the examination of the property and the trenches from 1983 could not be identified.
