Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The host rocks in the area are agglomeratic, coarse grained mafic volcanics and lapilli tuffs which are locally sheared. The agglomerate is poorly sorted and fragments are up to 10cm in size. There are a number of thin interflow sediments within the volcanic pile. FROM INCO'S WORK.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 30, 2011 (S Fumerton) - There are a number of small quartz - calcite - epidote veins which locally contain pyrite, pyrrhotite and minor chalcopyrite. These veins are locally associated with the interflow sediments and typically carry anomalous gold values but sub ore grade values. In addition to the small veins similar gold values have also been returned from finely laminated siliceous interflow sediments. Values obtained by Flint Rock Mines from the quartz vein ranged from 0.8 to 250 g/t gold (0.025 - 7.27 opt). The old pits were later resampled by Troudor Resources and quartz vein samples with pyrite and possible telluride ran up to 11 g/t gold (0.33 opt). Two years later the property was remapped and the chip samples from the main trench returned values up to 60 g/t Au and 11 g/t Ag in a pyritic quartz vein with trace amounts of pyrrhotite and galena. In 1985 the Canadian Nickel Company drilled three closely spaced holes apparently to the west of the main trenches. The best values obtained from this drill program were associated with narrow interflow chert horizons (up to 1.7 g/t Au, hole 72525) or thin pyritic quartz carbonate veins (3.02 g/t Au over 6cm, hole 72527).

Mar 30, 2011 (D Draper) - The best values returned from initial drilling by Flint Rock in 1962 was from hole 3C, which assayed 20.46 oz/ton Au and 4.54 oz/ton Ag. Hole 3C was drilled beneath the main trench (later designated Trench 1-5) (Timmins RGO newsclipping files) Grab and channel sampling of the old trenches by C. Mortimer in 1990 returned up to 15.22 gpt Au (0.444 opt). Best assay from Mortimer hole M-90-3 was 3.15 opt Au. A rock sample (04011 B-1) assayed 54.79 ppm Au, but a location for this sample could not be determined from information on file. (T-3376) 1998 sampling of the dump near Trench 1 returned an assay of 24.977 ppm Au. This dump location also returned the best assay in the 2006 followup sampling: 91.228 ppm Au, 34 ppm Ag. Significant assays were also obtained from Trench 1-3 (61.249 ppm Au) and 1-6 (36.698 ppm Au). The highest base metal values obtained were 3867 ppm Pb (1-5 dump site) and 2003 ppm Zn (Trench 1-3). (T-5439) Of the 175 samples (grab, channel, drill plug) collected by Mantis Explorations in 2008, 77 assayed higher than 0.5 ppm Au. Best values (all were bedrock grab samples): C174268, quartz-carbonate vein with V.G., from shear zone near blast pit at far eastern end of trenches - 1300 ppm Au, 259 ppm Ag, 1200 ppm Cu; C174481, metavolcanic, from east end of Trench 1-3 - 89.3 ppm Au, 229 ppm Ag, 6740 ppm Cu; C174214, mafic volcanic from centre of Trench 1-5 - 195 ppm Au, 57.6 ppm Ag, 1.73% Zn, 8300 ppm Pb Followup drilling by Mantis in 2009 returned up to 4.23 gpt Au over 0.5m and 4200 ppm Cu over 1m (in hole CL09-5), but no further significant assays for Ag, Zn or Pb were obtained. Hole CL09-6, collared 150m NE of the main trench area, returned an average of 2.053 gpt Au over a 15.5m core length (including 11.55 gpt over 0.8 m) and was considered to have intersected a new, shallow, gold zone. (T-6080)

Alteration Comments

Mar 30, 2011 (D Draper) - The entire volcanic succession on the property has undergone pervasive chloritization and carbonatization. (T-6080, p. 21)
