Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Mafic pillowed flow 1 Basalt, Fe Tholeiitic Pillowed Host
Quartz-Feldspar Porphyry 2 Quartz Feldspar Adjacent
Lamprophyre-Unsubdivided 3 N/A

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Mineralization is hosted in a pillowed iron tholeiitic basalt sequence, trending northeast which has been intruded by a number of quartz-feldspar porphyries. A hornblende lamprophyre also intrudes the mafic sequence. The porphyry has been emplaced along an east-west shear zone and is disjointed.

Mineralization

Mineralization and Alteration
Rank Mineral Name Class Economic Mineral Type Alteration Mineral Type Alteration Ranking Alteration Intensity Alteration Style

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The best assay collected from this zone by Dome Exploration was 25.7 g/t Au but other selected grab samples are in the 4 to 5 g/t Au range. Grab samples collected by the OGS in 1985 were: 0.38 g/t Au, 2.7 g/t Au and 0.84 g/t Au. Mineralization occurs in sheared, pyritic carbonatized material adjacent to the porphyry. In the sheared material there are some quartz stringers roughly parallel to the shear and the maximum known width of the sheared material is 6 m. Pyrite is disseminated in the sheared material and can form up to 15% of the rock.
