Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: Access to the general area of the occurrence is easy via the Dore main haul road and the Orofino Mine/Rundle Mine access road. Launch a canoie where the road intersects the Swayze River and head up stream about 3 km, negotiating a set of rapids and one set of falls. Follow Newton Creek south about 1 km and the showing is approximately a 1 km traverse to the southwest.
1936-46: Hollinger Mines - prospecting, stripping, trenching, diamond drilling. 1978: Hollinger Mines - 5 ddh, one drill hole intersected a zone with pyritic quartz returning values up to 1.11 oz/t Au over 1 foot. 1982: Sulpetro Minerals - data compilation, sampling.
