Dec 07, 2005 (Q Unknown) - Iron formation occurs discontinuously over 4 1/2 miles and consists mainly of an upper (north) band of chert with minor siderite, magnetite, pyrite and pyrrhotite separated by up to 500 feet of volcanics from the lower (south) band of pyrite, siderite, magnetite, pyrrhotite, chert and silicate minerals.
