Lithology Comments

Jan 29, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - The property encloses the north end of a Nipissing diabase sill and adjacent country rock composed of thin-bedded Gowganda metasediments. A quartz-carbonate vein system is located primarily in the diabase, but also extends into the thin-bedded metasediments. Mineralization occurs within the vein system.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 29, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - The ore occurs in a system of somewhat vuggy, quartz-carbonate veins containing inclusions of the wall rock, mostly quartz diabase. The veins are mineralized with argentiferous galena and a little pyrite and chalcopyrite; native gold is erratically distributed throughout the veins. The host rock is largely Nipissing diabase. Some of the veins are also known to occur in the adjoining thinly bedded greywacke. The vein system lies within and next to a sheared and faulted zone striking about N 60 degrees W. The veins fill fractures in the diabase. In 1950 a bulk sample of 21,692 lbs of vein material (from the Lahay vein) were taken and analysed by the Temiskaming Testing Laboratory in Cobalt gave returns of 7.13% Pb, 5.58 oz/ton Ag, 0.24 oz/ton Au.
