Lithology Comments

Nov 18, 2009 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is described as north-trending quartz-carbonate veins within Gowganda argillites about 250 feet south of a Nipissing diabase dike. The main vein is about 4 feet wide and is exposed for about 100 feet. The second vein is approximately 2 feet wide and can be traced northwards only a few feet.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 18, 2009 (A Wilson) - The mineralization is described as 95% galena, 3% pyrite, 2% chalcopyrite. The sulphides form 5% of the exposed vein material. A grab sample taken by the OGS in 1968 returned 10.2% Pb, 4.08 oz/t Ag and trace Cu. A chip sample taken in 1968 returned 3.71 oz/t Ag and 0.06 oz/t Au.


Jun 22, 2022 (Q Unknown) - Mineralization: sulphides in qtz carb veins in Gowganda argillite, quartz vein: main vein is up to 1.2 m wide and at least 30 m long. Assays: OGS grab smpl 10% Pb, tr Cu, 139.9 g/ton Ag. Chip smpl 127.2 g/t Ag, 2.1 g/t Au.
