Lithology Comments

Oct 12, 2011 (A Wilson) - Nipssing diabase (olivine hypersthene) dips east and is intrusive into Gowganda conglomerate and arkose. The copper-silver veins are richest in the diabase, but also occur in the underlying Gowganda metasediments.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 12, 2011 (A Wilson) - The grade of the ore was reportedly 3.15% Cu over 6.3 feet. Assays from the diamond drill logs showed variable values with the one of the better assays being 10.4% Cu over 2.8 feet. Silver mineralization had a grade of less than 1 oz/t. The mineralized zone averaged 7 feet in width. The zone strikes N70E, dips 80 north and consists of a concentration of fractures and slips with slickensided surfaces. Bornite is confined to the footwall side of the zone where slickensided surfaces are more prominently developed. The hanging wall is more typically mineralized with hematite associated with chalcopyrite. The main vein strikes west-southwest and extends for over 600 feet in length.
