Lithology Comments

Oct 11, 2011 (A Wilson) - The Nipissing diabase forms a southeast-dipping sill that overlies Gowganda conglomerate. The conglomerate dips gently to the southeast. Several mineralized calcite veins were explored. Three veins strike northeast but the one on which shafts No. 1 and 2 were sunk strike north-south.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 11, 2011 (A Wilson) - The south drift from No. 1 shaft on the 200-foot level encountered rich ore shoot assaying 5000 to 6000 oz/t silver over 2.5 to 3 inches.. The south drift from No. 2 shaft on the 100-foot level encountered mineralization with assays of 2000 oz/t silver. A sample collected by Donaldson in 1912 reportedly assayed 7000 oz/t Ag over 3.5 inches Samples collected by Lenwood Mining Company in 1956 from a waste pile beside an inclined shaft returned values of 22.26 oz/ Ag, 5.37% Pb, 5.02% Cu, 1.72% Co and 0.02% Ni.
