Exploration of the property was begun by BHP-Utah Mines in 1991 and continued by Haddington Resources-Portman Explorations in 1994-1996. Orogrande Resources conducted some diamond drilling in 1998 which intersected some significant gold values. In 1998, Goldeye Explorations Ltd. undertook exploration of the property in the Tyrrell-Knight gold area. Goldeye's diamond drilling was concentrated in the northeast part of the property along a gold bearing deformation zone known as the Tyrrell Structural Zone (TSZ) or Tyrrell Fault. Goldeye's principal targets were the Goldeye-LaCarte Zone and its extensions along the TSZ. Drill intersections of up to 2.09 g/t Au over 39.4m estimated true width, including 4.28 g/t Au/12.0m or 6.42 g/t Au over 6.5m were intersected.; .Channel samples from a trenching program assayed up to 14.4 g/t Au over 2 m and 10.3 g/t Au over 2.9 m. The main zone of mineralization has a 500m long Spectral IP anomaly that correlates with the Lacarte zone (600,000 tons estimated 6 g/t Au) located 250m to the east. (Goldeye Explorations Limited Press Release Nov 5/2002) Ref. Drilling in 1999-2000 by MacCallum and Lacarte intersected values up to 1333 ppb Au over 1.5m.
