Exploration History

Pre-1938: Shaft sunk to 114-foot level with some lateral development. 1938: Pirate Gold Mines Ltd. dewatered shaft and completed 15ft of crosscutting on 100-foot level. 1939: Pirate Gold Mines Ltd. completed diamond drilling. 1978: Teck Corporation Ltd. carried out a ground geophysical survey (magnetometer, VLFEM). 1987: Greater Temagami Mines Ltd. carried out A ground geophysical survey (resistivity, magnetometer, VLFEM), 6 diamond drill holes totaling 862m, geochemical sampling. 2005: World Ventures Inc. carried out line-cutting and a ground geophysical survey (VLFEM). 2009: Canadian Prospecting Ventures carried out a ground geophysical survey (magnetometer, VLFEM). 2014: Ashley Gold Mines. Ltd. carried out a ground geophysical survey (magnetometer).

Sep 30, 2020 (Sheree Hinz) - Mineralization occurs within a 1-6-foot-wide quartz vein found in a vertically dipping shear zone which cuts andesitic volcanic rocks.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 30, 2020 (Sheree Hinz) - Quartz vein hosts mineralization consisting of native gold, pyrite, minor pyrrhotite, sphalerite and galena. Drill core assays averaged 0.68 oz/ton Au over 1.6 ft. Assays from shaft ranged up to 8 oz/ton Au. 50m of the Kingston vein is visible through drifting, with the average grade reported to be 12g/ton Au across 0.8m (0.34 oz/ton Au across 2.5 ft)
