Point Location Description: Northernmost shaft in claim TRS2565 of property 21 (Map 2365), just S of Wasapika Lake
Location Method: Field Visit with GPS
Access Description: Access is gained by the old Violet Lake Road, which leaves Highway 560 about five kilometres east of Shining Tree village. The Violet Lake Road is followed easterly for approximately two kilometres to a short branch road constructed by Annett et al which leads onto Claim 1046148 where stripping took place in 2002.
South Shaft Area - Values in the southern trench ranged from 0.3 g/t Au to 6.17 g/t Au in wallrock and the quartz vein ran 3.84 g/t Au. Assays obtained from the northern trench ran up to 5.73 g/t Au across 1.0 m of qtz vein. North Shaft Area - Chip sampling over 2.0 m of wallrock assayed 1.32 g/t Au, while a 1.0 m chip across qtz veining assayed 6.10 g/t Au. A 1.0 m chip across the branch vein 2.0 m west of the shaft assayed 96.0 g/t Au. 2002 – Annett completed stripping, trenching and sampling. Best assay was 96 g/t gold near the north shaft.

The veins are up to 60 cm in width over a width of about 10 m. They cross-cut the shearing at times but have a trend of about 055-80. The South Shaft is at the west end of this stripping and GR 152 refers to this as the No.3 vein. (486961E 5271480N) The North Shaft is located about 486927E 527561N. Sample of the wall rock was collected to determine if this contained gold as well as the vein. Massive mafic volcanic rocks with a foliation at about 80 degree. A 10 cm wide quartz vein contains vg. The trend of the veins appears to be 320-80 near where the sample was collected. Mapping by Tindale indicates that the veins is astimosing.
