Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Meyer) - The overall strike direction of the shear zone, along which the scheelite-gold mineralized zone occurs, is 316 and the dip is steep to the east. Locally, the zone is deformed with the development of small folds.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 1 Mineralized sheared andesite and basalt Sheared Host
Vein 2 Quartz, calcite, serictie, pyrite, chlorite Massive, crenulated, boudinaged Host
Feldspar Porphyry 3 Adjacent
Diabase 4 Olivine Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Meyer) - A review of a geological map by Johns (2000) suggests that the gold-scheelite showings occur in intermediate to mafic metavolcanic rock.

Mineralization Comments

May 01, 2024 (Nazha Sabiri) - DDH CO7-1 (317 m) intersected the main mineralization zone at the vertical depth of 180 m. Basalt sample from this zone returned 3.2 g/t Au over 1.45 m; another sample from a porphyritic andesite mineralized shear assayed 0.63 over 1.4 m (same hole) (20000003816). Grab sample 1611 from the Sheelite Zone assayed 1526 ppm WO3, 1.46 ppm Au and 2.3 ppm Ag (41P11SE2036).

Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Meyer) - At this site overburden stripping and several pits expose a strongly carbonatized, sericitized zone with disseminated pyrite and a stockwork of quartz-carbonate veins.
