Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Ore mineralization is reported to be restricted to an altered gabbro described as green-grey, medium grained, chloritized, and weakly foliated to massive. Gabbro intrudes sheared and/or brecciated mafic to felsic volcanics with chlorite, magnetite, sericite, and pink K-feldspar alterations. The gabbro appears to have an east-northeast orientation and is compressed at each end.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Mineralization occurs as irregular patches < 1cm, 5mm stringer, or matrix material in brecciated zones. Sulphides include pyrite, variable chalcopyrite, pentlandite, and pyrrhotite. Sulphides returning good Ni values are generally very fine grained patches composed of pyrite and pentlandite. Areas with fine disseminated cubic pyrite failed to return anomalous metal values. The better Ni/Cu values are reported to occur at each end of the gabbro. It has been suggested (Daxl, 1990; Timmins assessment files) that because the gabbro sits in a shear zone, the ends could be pressure shadows where hydrothermal fluids were channelled from depth. Ore mineralization was not encountered outside of the gabbro body.

Jan 16, 2008 (D Draper) - Nine surface grab samples were taken of the felsic intrusive during prospecting in 2003. Best assays were: 2.08% Cu; 1.61% Ni; 868 ppm Co; 1.22 g/t Au; 15.8 ppm Ag; 0.10 g/t Pt. (T-5236)

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The best assay from the 1990 diamond drilling returned values of 1.44% Ni and 3.31% Cu over 2.9 m. Grab samples collected by the OGS in 1994 returned the following values: 0.39 g/t Au, 8.5 g/t Ag, 1.55% Ni, 1.96% Cu; 0.58 g/t Au, 11.3 g/t Ag, 1.32% Ni, 0.91% Cu; 0.02 g/t Au, 0.2 g/t Ag, 0.661% Cu, 0.022% Ni.

Jun 11, 2013 (P Bousquet) - Six grab samples were taken from the sulphide-rich gabbro. The best assays were: 0.645 g/t Au, 2.46 %Ni, 0.86%Cu, 0.381 g/t Pt, 0.315 g/t Pd (T-5776). Also, diamond drilling was done around the “Glory Hole” area. The six holes drilled in the area had highlights assays of 3.69 %Ni, 3.48 %Cu, 0.42 g/t Pt, 0.15 g/t Pd, 0.82 g/t Au (T-6321).

Notes: The 'Cliff' showing of the Eveco occurrence was visited on the west shore of Watershed Lake. A 1-2 m mineralized shear zone is exposed on a near vertical face of gabbro outcrop. The shear zone trends approximately northeast and dips at about 60 degrees to the southeast. Sulphides include pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and chalcopyrite (?). These minerals occur as fine disseminates, blebs, and discontinuous stringers locally up to 25%. The gabbro is medium grained massive becoming weakly to moderately foliated proximal to the shear. Quartz and quartz-feldspar veinlets 1-3 cm. also occur in areas close to the shear zone. Away from the shear zone the massive gabbro was found to contain trace to 3% disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite.
