Exploration History

1933: J.W. Young held eight claims over the prospect which were prospected with disappointing results. 1980: J.P. McVittie conducted a program of trenching in an area to the northeast of a small pond approximately 200 m west of the lower portion of Minisinakwa Lake. Two trenches were blasted for a total length of 122'. 1983: Jarvis Resources conducted a trenching program involving 3 new trenches on the east side of a small pond. Trenching was followed up by 3 diamond drill holes collared just south of the trenching. All 3 holes reported anomalous gold values in the range of 0.5-1.7 g/t Au. Total length of trenching was 106' and the total depth of drilling was reported as 497'. 1984: Hargor Resources Inc. flew an airborne electromagnetic and VLF survey over several townships in the area including the portion of St. Louis Township the contains the showing. 2010 : Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. – AEM, AMag.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Rocks in the immediate area were mapped by Siragusa 1993 (Open File Map 209), as metasediments showing foliation and shearing in an approximate east/northeast direction. Rocks in this area dip steeply 75-80 degrees to the north.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Anomalous gold values are reported to occur within a sheared greywacke containing small quartz stringers with associated pyrite mineralization. Three diamond drill holes were collared south of trenches and drilled north at initial dip of 45 degrees under the trenches.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Mineralization is described as fine sulphides (pyrite) associated with quartz stringers.

Jun 11, 2013 (A Wilson) - Anomalous gold values in the range of 0.5 - 1.7 g/t Au (0.15 – 0.04 oz/t) were reported from Jarvis Resources drill holes (T-2599).
