Latitude: 47° 32' 45.12"    Longitude: -81° 52' 14.58"

UTM Zone: 17    Easting: 434480.58   Northing: 5266194.7    UTM Datum: NAD83

Resident Geologist District: Timmins

NTS Grid: 41P12SW

Point Location Description: Stated position of the showing at Line 32E just north of the Base Line

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: The easiest access is probably via boat up Mesomikenda Lake into South Camp Bay to a point where the old base line intersected the lake. From this point a 300m traverse is required in order to get to the area.

Exploration History

It is unknown who excavated the trenches that have been found at this showing. 1971: Viewpoint Exploration acquired the ground and started a line cutting and geological reconnaissance program. During this work an old set of trenches were found which exposed some copper mineralization. Follow-up work in the next year consisted of a magnetic and an induced polarization survey over the area which were inconclusive. 1979: The ground was staked by Harold Kenty and optioned to Murgold resources in the following year. Reported exploration by Murgold over the next ten years was directed towards the various gold deposits to the northwest. No ground work in the vicinity of the present showing has been reported. 1985: Blue Falcon Mines carried out a regional airborne VLF-EM and magnetic survey which covered the area.
