Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The outcrop is transected by numerous faults/shears. These faults occur in two directions 076 degrees and 140 degrees but the alteration and mineralization is associated with the 076 trend.

Lithology Comments

Jun 13, 2013 (A Wilson) - The host rock is a medium-grained, leuco granite typical of the Chester Granitoid Complex. Alteration associated with the faults/shear zones consists of recrystallization and silicification together with some disseminated chloritic and pyritic alteration. Epidote alteration is weak, but pervasive throughout the host granite. The main outcrop is cut by a narrow diabase dike (<3 m), a lamprophyre dike (<.5 m) and lots of chloritic veinlets all trending 140 degrees.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 28, 2016 (A Wilson) - Disseminated pyrite occurs up to 10 cm from the axial fracture or shear and there are locally more than one mineralized shear per metre. Individual zones can be traced more than 10 m across the outcrop. Within the shears, quartz veins and semi-massive, coarse-grained, pyrite veins with minor chalcopyrite occur discontinuously. These veins are up to 10 cm thick and have reported grades up to 15 g/t Au (0.55 oz./t Au). A grab sample collected by the OGS in 1994 returned a value of 6.1 g/t Au, 1.3 g/t Ag.
