Geology Comments

Aug 30, 2010 (G Seim) - Preston East Dome Mines described the occurrence as consisting of massive, siliceous rhyolite, cut by east-west striking quartz stringers up to 6 in. in width. Very little sulphide mineralization was apparent. Manville Canada described outcrops of rhyolite that weather light grey to white and are porphyritic with the fresh surface showing sparse sulphide mineralization. An old trench has exposed a moderately oxidized shear zone mineralized with 5% to 10% disseminated pyrite. This rock appears to be a highly altered breccia. The acid volcanics strike N50E and dip 80 to the southeast.
