Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The occurrence is located in a small wedge of volcanic rocks of the Western Abitibi Subprovince of the Superior Province. Conglomerates of the Gowganda Formation, Cobalt Group, Hunronian Supergroup cover the volcanic rocks to the north and east. Granitic rocks of the Round Lake Batholith are located to the south. The Mistinokan Lake fault lies to the west and saeparates the volcanic rocks from conglomerates of the Gowganda Formation to the west. The fault strikes about 030. The gold showing is within a zone of strong shearing within the volcanic rocks. The zone has been traced over about 700 m and is about 30 m wide.
