Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Travel 0.4km on hwy 66 east from the junction of hwys 66 and 65 east of Matachewan. Turn left onto Matachewan Indian Reserve road and continue for 3.8km. Make a right turn onto a bush road, travelling east for 0.8km. Proceed left at the junction for 0.5km and stay right for another 1.2km. Continue right for 0.5km to the end of the road. Cameroon Lake will be in view, looking south from the rock cut, walk 300m to Cameroon lake to the east shore and continue south for 120m.



Exploration History

1909: stripping, test-pitting and sinking of 2 shafts to a depth of 25 feet each by persons unknown. 1912: E Craig and A. Cameron – exploration, trenching, 60 ft shaft .2011: Pro Minerals Inc.- airborne geophysics

Jan 16, 2015 (A Wilson) - A 150 ft wide quartz vein strikes to the north within a brecciated and silicified syenite. The vein consists of quartz and silicified and brecciated syenite.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 16, 2015 (A Wilson) - A 60 foot shaft has been sunk on the vein with short drifts along the vein. An ODM report for 1909 indicates that stripping, test-pitting and sinking of 2 shafts to a depth of 25 ft took place on the property. Fine visible gold was reported from the shaft sunk on the vein.
