Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Syenite 1 Host
Vein 2 Quartz Contains
Conglomerate 3 Conglomerate, Argillite, Greywacke Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Mar 19, 2015 (A Wilson) - The syenite is pink to red, medium-grained and containes 5 to 20% chloritized hornblende. It is cut by narrow, bluish grey quartz veinlets that have a marked northernly trend. In places, these veinlets are closely spaced an joined by similar veinlets trending about 75°, forming stockworks.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 19, 2015 (A Wilson) - Mineralization is confined to quartz-carbonate veins within the syenites and Timiskaming sediments. An assay of 4.4 oz/t Au was recovered from a sample taken from a syenite between 130 and 132 ft in drill hole C-8. Other gold values returned between 0.01 oz/t Au and 0.03 oz/t Au over 5 ft. Copper values ranged from tr to 0.06% Cu over 6 ft and occasional molybdenum values up to 0.03% over 2 ft. Diamond drilling by Midrim Mining Company Ltd. intersected 0.1 to 0.15% Cu over an area approximately 60 by 120 m. Assays from DDH KL-HW-81-1 returned values of 2406 ppb Au and 17.0 ppm Ag over 0.4 ft in a quartz vein; 1231 ppb Au and 1.0 ppb Ag over 1.7 ft in a dark grey syenite. A 0.7 m section of drill core from Alexandria Minerals DDH MA T-05-3 assayed 1.03 g/t Au and 0.30 ppm Ag in Cobalt conglomerate. In 1973, R. Newman intersected 0.291 oz/t Au over 1 foot in sediments between 177 and 178 ft. Tourmaline occurs as needles up to 1 cm long and as fine grained granular masses that locally comprise up to 50% of the vein.
