Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The area is underlain by greywacke-conglomerate of the Gowganda Formation, Cobalt Group of the Huronian Supergroup. The Gowganda Formation dips gently to the east. The deposit is about 300 m west of a fault, here named, Sisseney Lake.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The hematite is found in a quartz vein the strike 072-90. The vein cuts greywacke-conglomerate of the Gowganda formation. Tonalite of the Round Lake Batholith is found to the east of the Sisseney Lake Fault.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 22, 2012 (Nazha Sabiri) - Botryoidal hematite and specularite are found in lenses within the quartz vein. One lens is 60 feet long and the other is 25 feet long. The lenses are 7 to 10 feet wide as intersected by diamond drilling. About 4 Tons of blasted material remains around the pit.
