Exploration History

1908: Staking of the claims which were patented in 1911. Trenching and 2 shallow pits were developed to explore 2 narrow quartz-carbonate veins with semi-massive sphalerite and galena mineralization; 13 m deep shaft sunk circa 1911. 1947: Bradford Syndicate - property acquired, surface work. 1947: property optioned by Geometal Mines Limited (no work completed). 1991-93: Joutel Resources Ltd. - airborne geophysics, completed prospecting and sampling of the old pits. 1998: Opawica Explorations Inc. - DD-6-1167 m

Mineralization Comments

Jan 25, 2016 (A Wilson) - Grab samples collected from the shaft and pits returned values of 31% Zn, 34.2% Pb and 0.84 oz/t Ag. Grab samples collected in 1946 returned gold values ranging from trace to $0.35; silver values ranging from 0.12 oz to 0.84 oz; zinc values ranging from 3.2% to 31.0% and lead values ranging from 3.8% to 34.2%. Grab samples collected in 1993 returned assays of ranging from 21.15-30.35% Zn and 3.73-3.84% Pb. The old pits and trenches on the previously reported mineralized quartz and calcite veins were located. The southern vein is less than 2' wide, strikes N20ºE and dips 70ºW. It contains very coarse grained blebs and irregular veins of sphalerite cut by later veins of galena. Selected grab samples from the dump assayed 21.15 - 30.35% Zn and 3.73 - 3.84% Pb. The northern vein strikes N65ºE and dips 70 N. It is similar to the southern vein but contains more galena. Selected grab samples from the dump assayed 7.53 -7.98% Zn and 9.54 - 21.65 % Pb. The samples from both veins assayed only trace Au and 7.7 - 32.9 ppm Ag. Assays from the Opawica drilling returned values ranging up to 4.41% Zn and 5480 ppm Pb.
