Lithology Comments

May 25, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The northern part of the property is underlain by massive diorite and gabbro, and minor 'greenstone'. South of these mafic intrusions are tuff and conglomerate horizons and, further south, an irregularly shaped mass of syenite porphyry and mafic syenite with interspersed metasediments (Gordon et al., 1979).

Mineralization Comments

May 25, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - Near the railroad line, prospecting has revealed several veins and shear zones. There is some shearing immediately north of the shaft in claim L1429. A narrow quartz vein in lamprophyre was exposed in a drift from the 3,000-foot level of the Macassa workings. It varies from 1 to 6 inches in width and has a 2- to 10-inch wide selvage of pyritized carbonate rock on either side. Molybdenite occurs in some parts of the vein. Assays of samples taken in the drift ranged from 0.01 to 0.84 ounce of Au per ton. Diamond-drill hole intersections ranged from 0.01 to 0.25 ounce of Au per ton over widths of 0.5 to 1.5 feet (Gordon et al., 1979).
