Access Description: Follow the Goldthorpe Road out of Chaput Hughes for approximately 10 km. The pit is about 50 m to the west of the road.
Pre1948 – Armer Lake Gold Mining Syndicate sunk 3 pits on quartz veins on the east shore of the lake. 1948 – Calcora Mining & Development Syndicate cleaned out the old pits and put down another pit (on #4 vein) about 110 m north of the northern most pit. 1950-1954 – Calcora deepened the northern pit to 50 feet. 2 diamond drill holes totalling 218 feet were completed

Nov 29, 2012 (D Guidon) - The pit is located within mafic volcanic rocks of the Lower Blake River assemblage near the contact of a mafic intrusive body to the south and an alkalic felsic to intermediate intrusive body to the west.

Nov 29, 2012 (D Guidon) - According to Savage (1948), a grab sample from the southern most pit (#2 vein) in the east shore of Armer Lake (Map 1945-1) returned $1.70 (1.64 ppm gold). The vein strikes 240-80.
