Pre- 1945: Harry Oakes – Property acquisition; surface prospecting and shallow diamond-drilling along the ‘Main Break’. 1964: Teck Corporation Limited – geological and magnetic surveys; 9 DDHs totalling 8,867 feet. 1965-67: Teck Corporation Limited - underground development totalling 3,800 feet extended into the Macassa Mine. 1971: production began

Lithology Comments

Apr 17, 2015 (J Suma-Momoh) - The sediments are cut by a considerable number of dykes and irregularly shaped bodies of syenite porphyry and basic syenite. The Kirkland lake break has been traced on the main ground from the Macassa Mine boundary west to Amikougami Creek, where it is offset southward by a cross fault.
