Mineralization Comments

Jun 29, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - 'A diamond drill was put down by S. Stanwick of Matachewan in an attempt to evaluate the historical showing which consists of two paralleling quartz veins which at the widest approach around 8 inches. Pieces of core left at the drill site contained coarse pyrite which when assayed (by Robert Sheedy, 1979) ran a trace in gold and 0.8 and 1.0 in silver respectively. Samples of the pyritized wallrock were also assayed which also ran 0.8 on both samples for the element silver. No gold or other minerals were present, except some minor uranium. Best result of the vein material was 0.072 oz/t Au.' REF: KL 2597. 'A pit in the beaver pond is said by local inhabitants to have contained visible gold…Grab samples taken by the author (H.L. Lovell) yielded little more than a trace of each of the elements gold, silver, molybdenum, and copper.' OGS 1967, GR 51, page 32. Diamond drilling carried out by McIntyre Porcupine Mines Limited in 1965 returned trace gold and 0.04 % Cu over 4 feet. REF: KL 1824. A pit was sunk in syenite porphyry occurring on the property. Grab sample taken from the dump in 1918 assayed 0.22 oz of gold/ton. Grab samples taken in 1963 yielded trace amounts of Au, Mo, and Cu. REF: OGS 1979, MDC 18, page 187.
