Geology Comments

Jun 24, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - The showings consist of a number of narrow disconnected quartz veins occupying weak shears. They occur either in greenstone, along the contact between greenstone and porphyritic syenite, or entirely within the latter rock. The main vein strikes N40 degrees west and dips 85 degrees to the north-east. It is exposed for about 125 feet. REF: KL 2155; OGS 1966, MAP 2109, Baden and Alma Townships, in GR 51.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 24, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - 'Grab samples were taken by W.T. Robson of Lake Shore Mines Ltd in 1938 from discontinuous quartz veins occupying weak shears in greenstone and syenite on the O'Neill claims. They assayed from 0.08 oz to 0.35 oz of gold per ton across widths from 4 to 20 inches. Robson logged 3,007 feet of core from 10 diamond drill holes and found no sections which looked as good as some of the surface exposures.' REF: KL 2155; OGS 1967, GR 51, P30. Assays ranged from trace to 0.02 oz of gold per ton. REF: OGS 1979, MDC 18, P189.
