Exploration History

1976 Gulf Mineral LTD completed 8 diamond drill holes on 2 properties in SE Zavitz Tp. Occurrence grade nickel intercepts were cut in 4 widely spaced ddh all located to the S and W of Moray Lake. A MDI record exists for each drill hole. DDH Z-1 cut a sequence of felsic metavolcainics and graphitic argillites intruded by serpentinized ultramafic rock. From 111 to 112 ft down the hole (in ultramafic rock) assayed 0.19% Ni. and the interval 542 to 543 ft. assayed 0.24% Ni. Anomalous (sub occurrence grade) zinc assays returned from the graphitic argilite.
