1976 Gulf Mineral LTD completed 8 diamond drill holes on 2 properties in SE Zavitz Tp. Occurrence grade nickel intercepts were cut in 4 widely spaced ddh all located to the S and W of Moray Lake. A MDI record exists for each drill hole. DDH Z-4 cut a sequence of felsic metavolcainics and graphitic argillites intruded by serpentinized ultramafic rock. The ultramafic was intersected from 597 to 677 ft. down the hole. The interval from 611 ft. to 616 ft. returned an assay of 0.23% Ni.
