Geology

Province: Superior

Subprovince: Abitibi

Terrane: Wawa-Abitibi

Belt: Abitibi

Tectonic Assemblage: Deloro

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Oct 08, 2014 (D Guidon) - The property is located in a WNW trending Archean volcanic sequence comprising felsic, mafic and ultramafic rocks and interbedded sedimentary and volcaniclastic rocks. This sequence is intruded by a prophyritic syenite plug to the northwest of the showing. Jackson and Fyon (1991) put the sequence in the Bartlett Tectonic Assemblage. This has been reinterpreted as the Deloro Assemblage by Ayer et al. (2002).

Lithology Comments

Apr 26, 2010 (D Guidon) - Lithologies in the drill core include felsic to intermediate tuffs, graphitic zones and a massive pyrite zone. A 5 foot intersection (69-74 feet) of massive pyrite cut by quartz-carbonate stringers assayed 2.22 ounce Ag per ton. A 4.5 foot intersection (244.5-249 feet) of carbonated pyritic tuff assayed 1.52 ounce Ag per ton.
