Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Asbestos mineralization occurs in a 300'long, 50'wide, northeasterly trending outcrop of dark grey to black serpentinite.

Aug 17, 2017 (A Wilson) - Asbestos mineralization was cut in all 3 drill holes in 1959. The veins in these holes were generally widely spaced, the mineralized sections short and the fibre did not exceed 3/16 inch in length. Disseminated sulphide minerals were noted in the country rocks in contact with the serpentinite.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Asbestos is present in short gash veins cutting dark grey to black serpentinite. Asbestos fibre is generally very short but a few small veins with 1/4 fibres do exist.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Fibre exposed to date is in areas of small lateral extent, too small to be considered as ore bodies.

Geologist: K Houle

Notes: The area of the Radio Hill asbestos showing was found to contain a series of small ultramafic exposures along the south slope of a northeast trending ridge. The ultramafic rocks appear massive and fine grained with occasional slightly talcose fine fractures. Alteration halos of about 0.5cm existed around fractures. Fractures commonly had a northeastern orientation. No asbestos mineralization was observed at this location however time constraints did not allow for a more thorough search of the area.
