Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The nearby exposed rocks consist of pillowed and massive iron tholeiitic flows cut by diabase dykes. Drilling indicates that within the volcanic sequence there are some sulphide facies iron formation up to 10m thick.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The drill log identifies a sequence of basalt, gabbro, pyroxenite and andesite.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The sulphide facies iron formation is largely made up of pyrrhotite and chert bands with some pyrite and minor chalcopyrite. Early analytical work indicated that low copper values were obtained.

Site Visit Information

Date: Oct 07, 1992

Geologist: S Fumerton

Notes: The clearing that may be an old drill set up is roughly in the position inferred for the hole based on an old grid line found and the position of the highway. However, no clearings for other holes drilled in the same program could be found, i.e. #4 | #5.
