Point Location Description: Serpentinite outcrop along Crawford River east of Lown Lake.

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Follow Highway 101 west of Timmins approximately 50 km until you reach the Kenogaming Road. Follow this road south keeping to the left until you reach a secondary road just before crossing the Crawford River. Follow this road south about 3 km, past Lawn Lake, to where an old road exists to the east. A 700m traverse past the end of this road will take you to the showing. Alternately the main road will take you within about a 100 m of the showing but on the wrong side of the river.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - A few lines in the 1924 ODM Annual Report, Vol 33, Pt 6, Pg-17 simply states: All of the serpentine rocks in the area carry small amounts of chromite. An analysis of a sample taken from the outcrop on the Crawford river in Kenogaming township gave 0.24% chromium at the Provincial Assay Office.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A sample taken from an outcrop on the Crawford River gave an assay of 0.24% Cr. The sample and analysis were taken in 1924.
