Site Visit Information

Date: Jul 10, 1986

Geologist: J Ireland

Notes: The property, consisting of 42 unpatented claims tied on to the west boundary of Falconbridge Ltd's Norduna Patents, is currently under option to Glen Auden Resources. The purpose of the visit was to initially locate the site of stripping and sampling activities carried out in 1983 and 1984, to study the local geology and to collect representative rock specimens. The property was idle at the time of the visit. The site of stripping, on what is believed to be the westward extension of the Dunvegan gold-zinc bearing sheared zone, was quickly located and most of the time was spent examining this portion of the property. The main area of interest appears to be a stratabound zone of pyritic quartz-sericite schists derived from felsic tuffs. Geological mapping by Golden Range Resources has traced the pyritic horizon for 5,200 feet along strike from the southeast boundary of the property westward as far as the Crawford River. Pyrite contents vary from trace amounts to massive but average content is 3-5%. Most sulphides occur as stratiform laminations 1-10mm wide. Although the limits of the pyritic horizons are not exposed, estimated width of the zone is between 400 and 600 feet. Small scale deformational features such as crenulations, small scale faults and local folding of the tuffs was observed. Sericitization is intense at this location. [ PRECIS ]

Date: Jul 05, 1993

Geologist: K Houle

Notes: An attempt was made to locate the drill collar but the area has since been clear-cut and planted and is now covered by young (8-12 yr) jack pine. Signs of past drilling are no longer readily visible in the field.
