Point Location Description: Old clearing believed to be the location, or very near the location, of drill setup.

Location Method: Field Visit with GPS

Access Description: Follow Highway 101 west from Timmins until you reach where the Opishing River crosses the highway between Opishing and Beaucage Lakes. Take the Akweskwa Lake access road as far as the boat launch. An old road, passable by foot or ATV, follows the east shore of the lake and will take you within a couple hundred metres of the showing.

Exploration History

1978 Amax Minerals conducted a magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical survey in '78 that was followed up by a one hole drill program in 1979. The drilling intersected predominantly ultramafics with some slightly anomalous Ni values. 1984 MPH Consulting Ltd. conducted an airborne magnetic and VLF-electromagnetic survey over the majority of Reeves, Sewell, Penhorwood and Kenogaming Townships for the H.W.S. Syndicate (R.J. Sheppard). This airborne survey included the area of this showing. 1997-1998: Mord, Salo & Salo – DD – 1 – 394ft, Assays, Mag, Pr.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Predominantly fine grained and massive.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Anomalous Ni values were returned from drill core within a carbonatized and serpentinized ultramafic unit containing talc and chlorite bands.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - Anomalous Ni values reported in a drill log. High Ni value of 0.25% occurs within a carbonated and serpentinized ultramafic. The carbonate ultramafic is described as being a pale grey, fine grained, strongly carbonated ultramafic (with) minor talc and chlorite rich bands throughout.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K Houle) - The only mineralization reported is the alteration mineralogy, talc and serpentine, and magnesite.

Aug 17, 2017 (P Bousquet) - The best intersection from hole KEN-1 intersected 5 feet at 0.25% Ni in a “carbonated and serpentinized ultramafic rock, medium green grey, fine grained, massive” (T-1868). Another hole performed in the vicinity returned assays of 0.201% Ni and 0.211% Ni over 4 and 3 ft respectively (T-4175).

Site Visit Information

Date: Jun 30, 1993

Geologist: K Houle

Notes: Although no drill collar was located, a large clearing was found that coincided with the location of the drill set-up as could be best determined from the assessment file location sketch. It is believed that this clearing is either the location of the drill set-up or is very near to the actual location.
