Geology Comments

Jul 13, 2020 (G Seim) - N. Hogg (1946) report ins T-71 The major recent developments have been in shears stringing north-south through grey biotite granites; This type includes the 1010 vein in claim P-1010 and the Jowsey vein, in claim p-1385. Both these veins strike north-south and dip steeply to the east and both are more than 1/2 mine from the contact between the granite and greenstone. Both veins have been traces intermittently on surface for some 700 ft. They are marked by sharply defined rusty weathering shears in the granite. These shears pinch and swell from tight cracks to rusty zones over 6 feet wide. In places thy pinch out entirely and recur further along strike. The fracture as a rule is filled with a quartz vein, which also pinches and swells with the shearing from less than an inch to 2 feet, but on average is only about 2 inches. The quartz is mineralized with pyrite in narrow seams forming a network though the quartz and as coarse scattered crystals. The crushed granite in both walls in the fracture also carry pyrite and carbonate stringers. A little chalcopyrite is also present, but in very small quantity. The 1010 is displaced in at least one place by a cross fault striking N65E and dipping south. The vein is weak at this point which is about 600 ft. N of the old shaft and the extension is not definite. However, a vein thought to be the continuation has been picked up about 200ft further east. It is very weak north of the fault. The southern extension, beyond the shaft is lost in low ground.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - No assays are available on this occurrence, but the N. Hogg report in T-71 suggest that it was developed with a shaft, trenching and several (18) diamond drill holes.

Jul 13, 2020 (A Wilson) - Gowest Amalgamated reported assays from drill holes that included 12.0 oz/t Au over 0.7 ft, 1 oz/t Au over 0.9 ft. Sampling on surface returned similar but more consistent gold values over narrow widths. Grab samples collected by Starcore Resources returned values up to 3.46 oz/t Au.

Geologist: B Atkinson

Notes: Property visit October 13, 2009 to view bedrock stripping completed by Melkior Resources Inc. Trenching has exposed a narrow shear zone that carries up to 3% pyrite in a silicified felsic intrusion of granodiorite to tonalite. This is part of the Carlton Lake Pluton and is on strike with several other gold occurrences that have been stripped and diamond drilled by Melkior.
