Lithology Comments

Jun 26, 2012 (A Wilson) - The Kapika Zone lies within altered quartz and/or feldspar porphyries hosted wtihin an assemblage of turbiditic metasedimentary rocks. The mineralization is contained in a sericitic rich shear zone that varies in width from 20 to 70 m hostd by thinly bedded argillite and conglomerates and other mixed metasediments. The Kapika Zone style of mineralization consists of two distinct gold zones. One is hosted by a red magnetite-bearing porphyry and the other within arsenopyrite-pyrite-quartz-ankerite veined sericitic metasediments.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 26, 2012 (A Wilson) - A 0.04 ft section of drill core returned $1.40 Au from Gertie Gold Syndicate drill hole 7. Significant assays from the Esso drillig included 14.00 g/t au (uncut) and 5.41 g/t Au (cut) over 6.14 m in drill hole T-28, and 12.0 g/t au over 1 m in T-50. Visible gold was reported in 7 drill holes which resulted i nhigh gold intercepts such as 2.85 oz/t Au over 1 m in TH-97-222 and 16 g/t Au over 1 m in TH-97-223. In the Kapika area, the mineralization is different than most of the other gold zones, as this one is mostly dominated by pyrite, with little or no arsenopyrite, and is associated with quartz+/-tourmaline veins. The mineralization was previously reported to be predominantly hosted by the red magnetite-bearing dykes. Although narrow “trachytic” syenite dykelets have been observed, the mineralization appears to be primarily hosted by a highly deformed and altered mafic unit, possibly the same one which sits above the mineralization further to the east. The mineralization overprints the pink albite (?)-magnetite-hematite alteration which is so predominant there and further north of the mafic unit along the Gold River East Zone.
