Geology Comments

Jun 26, 2012 (A Wilson) - The Lower Footwall Fault Zone is interpreted as a splay off of the Destor-Porcupine fault zone to the south. On the basis of diamond drill results, a late, northeast trending fault is interpreted at approximately 4125E on the Band-Ore grid. The fault offsets the Lower Footwall fault and related altered and mineralized wallrocks to the south. The Lower Footwall fault defines the southern limits of the broad sericitized and carbonatized altered sediments representative of the Band-Ore Horizon from relatively unaltered argillites and siltstones southward to the Destor Porcupine Fault.

Vein 1 Quartz-Carbonate Host
Siltstone 2 Sericitized Host
Schist-Unsubdivided 3 Sericite-Ankerite Host

Lithology Comments

Jun 26, 2012 (A Wilson) - Gold mineralization is hosted within arsenopyrite-pyrite-ankerite-quartz veins and appears to be strongest proximal to porphyry contacts, although some mineralization occurs within sericitic and carbonate altered pyritic porphyries. Mineralized zones occur within a broad alteration deformation zone. The Lower Footwall fault zone has been subdivided into the Main, Small, Diabase and West Zones by Band-Ore personnel.
