Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Gold values occur in a band of iron formation striking in a north-south direction and dipping to the east at about 25 degrees on the average. This horizon is interbedded with carbonatized massive andesites and pillow lava. All units are intruded by quartz porphyry dikes, serpentinite plugs and diabase dikes. The best mineralization occurs in the vicinity of a large reverse S drag fold in the iron formation. Secondary quartz gash veins cut across the iron formation at roughly a right angle and are closely spaced. Relatively narrow selvages of carbonate occur on the edges of the quartz veins and coarse pyrite is present in both pyrite and carbonate.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Samples taken from the percussion drilling of Gowganda Resources returned values of 0.445 oz/t Au to a depth of 20 feet and 0.086 oz/t Au to 30 feet. A rock trench blasted between the percussion drill holes resulted in a value of 0.167 oz/t Au over a true width of 22 feet. One section north of the shaft in the underground workings returned values of 0.116 oz/t Au over a 5 foot true width.
