Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of an extensive network on quartz veinlets and stringers heavily mineralized with pyrite. The veins vary in thickness for 0.25 in. to 4 in. The claims are underlain by intermediate to mafic metavolcanic flows with narrow banded iron formation and interflow pyroclastic zones. The volcanics and iron formations strike roughly NW-SE and dip gently to the NE. There are a number of zones of intense carbonate alteration on the property, some of which are closely associated with the iron formation, while other wider zones have a more easterly trend and steep dips and seem to cross cut the stratigraphy.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Samples collected by Bay Lake Gold Mines from trench 3 in 1929 returned values of 6.7 oz/t Au and 22.35 oz/t Au. Assays from diamond drilling reportedly returned averages of $8.70 Au. Composite samples collected by J. Cole (Erie Canadian Gold Mines ?) in 1934 returned values of 4.40 oz/t Au, 1.04 oz/t Au and 1.26 oz/t Au. Samples from drill holes completed by Flint Rock returned values of 0.36 oz/t Au over 6 ft in intermediate metavolcanics and 0.25 oz/t Au over 4.5 ft in quartz stringers. Grab samples from a 4 ft wide vein in a shaft returned 0.128 oz/t Au and a grab sample from a 4.5 ft wide vein in a pit returned 0.169 oz/t Au. Diamond drilling by Lacana returned assays of 0.02 oz/t Au in the iron formation. The best sample collected by Hutteri and Korba returned 0.35 oz/t Au from iron formation. Sylvanite Gold Mines completed bulk sampling in 1940/41, the best assays of which returned a grade of 0.05 oz/ton Au.
