Exploration History

1961-70: Goose Lake Iron Mines/J. H. Dillon - trenching, sampling, diamond drilling, metallurgical testing. 1967: Algoma Ore Division - sampling, geophysical survey. 2010-11: 99 Capital Corporation - ground magnetometer, EM. 2013: Stonewater Resources Limited - metallurgical testing, scoping study, mineralogy, sampling, DD, engineering study.

Lithology Comments

Jul 10, 2007 (A Wilson) - The sequence consists of NW-trending discontinuous bands of iron formation with moderate dips to the NE. Individual zones range from less than 1 foot by 70 feet to 300 feet by 2 miles. The iron formation consists of chert, jasper, siderite, chlorite and magnetite with numerous pyrite-pyrrhotite zones.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 12, 2015 (D Draper) - Two grab samples of iron formation taken by Algoma Ore returned 51.7% and 57.5% Fe.


Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A small portion of the head sample gave the following results: 31.38% acid soluble iron; 31.40% total iron; 52.90 insoluble; 0.34% TiO2; 0.13% Ph)5; 0.018% S.
