Access Description: Travel 4 km south of Porcupine on the Concession Road to a bush road that leads 600m south east to the site. The shaft is 18m south of the logging trail.



Exploration History

1910: United Porcupine Gold Mines Ltd. and Royal Porcupine Mines Ltd. 1923-31: Two-in-One Gold Mines Limited - shaft to 55 ft. lateral work 82 feet; test pitting. 1934: Sylvanite Gold Mines Ltd. - sampling. 1944: Troup Porcupine Mines Ltd. - DD. 1977-79: Rosario Resources Corp. - airborne geophysics, mapping, sampling.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 07, 2010 (A Wilson) - A report by Erie Canadian Mines Ltd (T-718) reports that $35 gold was intersected at 55 foot depth of shaft and that $3 to $15 gold was recovered in schist. Surface grab samples collected from the quartz vein in 1931 returned $4.75 gold. Reports by Sylvanite Gold Mines Ltd. note that samples collected from underground returned values ranging from $0.40 to $102.12 gold. A grab sample collected by Homestake Mines in the vicinity of the shaft in 1937 returned 0.02 oz/t Au.
