Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - Irvin Porpcupine DDH X-1 was drilled at -30 from north to south underneath a porphyry outcrop. The hole collared in mafic metavolcanic rock and intersected a porphyry mineralized with quartz stringers from 42 to 46 ft. down the hole. The hole continued in porphyry to a depth of 50 ft. The hole then passed into carbonate rock mineralized with quartz stringers until 68 feet where the hole once again cut mafic metavolcanic rock. The outcrop trace of the porphyry trends NE. Puissance Mining Corp. drilled hole P-12-84 in the vicinity of the porphyry and hole X-1 but did not intersect porphyry.
