Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: The site is accessible by driving sourth from South Porcupine along the Langmuir Mine Road a few miles to the Goose Lake Road. From this point a poorly maintained secondary road passes eastward to the claim group.



Exploration History

1939: Turner - discovery. 1940-41: Sylvanite Gold Mines Ltd. - bulk sampling, trenching. 1981: Lacana Mining Corporation - ground geophysics, diamond drilling. 1990-95: H. Hutteri and E. Korba - mapping, sampling, geochemical survey, ground geophysics. 2001-02: B. Cole - ground geophysics, geology.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is described as consisting of visible gold within carbonate fracturing or within 3 feet of the greenstone. The veins are hosted in massive to foliated iron carbonate and/or sericite carboante schist zones, both crosscutting and concordant with the stratigraphy which strikes NW. The carbonate zones are up to 12 m wide and extend along strike for 300 m.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The best assays returned from samples collected by Sylvanite in 1940 returned values of 1.60 dwt Au.
