Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - The Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone traverses the 4 claims comprising the Delnaur Gold Mines property. The fault as mapped by Carlson (1967) as passing on a bearing of about 070 through the centers of claims 7928 and 7929. To the north of the fault zone, tholleiitic mafic to komatiitic ultramafic rocks of the Tisdale assemblage underlie the property. To the south of the fault are calc-alkaline massive to pillowed and fragmental mafic volcanics of the Deloro Assemblage. The Tisdale assemblage rocks as apparently intruded by a serpentinite body, and by quartz and granite porphyries. Both the Deloro and Tisdale rocks are cut by diabase dikes.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Seim) - The 1919 report by H.C. Anchor names the 4th of July vein as the most significant vein on the property. Its location, however is unknown. Anchor took 9 sampled fro 3 cuts across the 4th of July vein. The West cut averaged $7.61 per ton over 11.5 ft., the Center cut $6.80 over 5.5 ft. and the East cut returned $7.50 over 90 inches and $5.00 over24 inches. Gold was quoted at $20.67. A 1937 report by W.H. Hansen indicates that the best value obtained was 0.18 oz gold from sone peices containing chalcopyrite picked up from a trench on the east boundary (of the claim group). 1941 Drilling on the claims returned less spectaular resuled with the bes value being $1.40 over 23 inches in a granite porphyry showing some ankerite and sulphide. This was reported from Hole 2 drilled in 1941 on claim 7928. (Gold had been fixed at US$35.00 per ounce in 1939).
